Our clearest example is Air Alliance Limited, a UPS authorized service contractor in Bangladesh. Mahmudul spent six years at Bengal Airlift Group, Air Alliance's parent group, as system analyst and software team lead, working on the systems its departments used every day.
In 2022, SDS was engaged as the vendor to replace them. The proposal did not begin with a technology recommendation; it began with a description of how their operation actually worked, because we had lived in it. Five of the six modules went live in 2023 and are still in production.
We cannot spend six years inside every client before starting. But that project is a fair description of what we try to reach on every engagement: understand the operation well enough that the design argues for itself.

Every proposal states what is being built and what is not. An explicit out-of-scope list is not defensiveness; it is what keeps a wide programme from becoming an open-ended one.
Something useful should go live early. Departments get working software while later modules are still being written, and you find out whether we understood you months before the end.
Sometimes the right recommendation is to keep the existing system and fix three specific things. That is a smaller invoice and a better outcome, and we would rather give that answer than sell a rebuild.
Every project includes a warranty period, then an annual maintenance arrangement. Software that is not maintained becomes the legacy system somebody calls us about in five years.
Off-the-shelf software is the right answer more often than a software company usually admits. Accounting, payroll and email are solved problems, and we will tell you to buy them.
Custom becomes the better choice when the process that makes your business work is the part the product cannot handle. At that point the licensed system needs so much configuration, so many exports, and so many manual steps around it that you are paying twice - once for the licence and once for the people working around it.
